Welcome to Aspen Norwegian Elkhounds - Westminster, Colorado

 I am Robin Rhoden, and my husband, Randy, and I got our first Norwegian Elkhound in 1983. Her name was Elke, and we loved her very, very much. She helped us fall in love with the breed.  We have had elkhounds ever since.  We have shown our elkhounds in Conformation, Obedience, and Agility over the years.  Currently, we participate mainly in conformation.  We have bred Best in Show-winning dogs, Specialty-winning dogs at Regional and National Events, as well as many group-winning and placing dogs.  2018 Best of Breed Winner, Westminster Kennel Club, Best of  Breed AKC National Championship 2019, National Specialty Best in Show 2023.

 

Our dogs are our family, and breeding wonderful family companions for ourselves as well as for the families that our puppies go to is our main objective.  Although we enjoy showing our dogs, we live with them every day, so we strive to not only produce quality conformation dogs but also dogs with superior temperaments and personalities for us and other families to enjoy and live with. We, as Norwegian Elkhound Breeders, bred our first litter in 1998

I was President of the Columbine Norwegian Elkhound Association for 10 years.  I was on the board of Directors for the Norwegian Elkhound Association of America for 10 years including 4 years as the Preesident.
